HOPE Farmer's Market
Two fantastic features of this market as we welcome back two old friends to our stage.
First up, we have The Brothers Wayfare returning after a long summer abroad on the dusty road. We last saw these esteemed gentlemen back in March. Well, it’s autumn in Texas (and everywhere else), the cool golden days have returned, and we couldn’t be more excited to see them again.
And from 1:00 to 1:45 we’ll be presenting a special bilingual Story Time with Mr. Carlos Cita, in association with Think Bilingual Austin. Kids will learn about three legends–Bochica, El hombre Caiman, and Francisco el Hombre–and act out the stories with music and dance.
Additionally, Think Bilingual will host an activity table for kids and adults of all ages bringing together food and culture from India and Mexico. Create your own Farmers Market and Home Scavenger Hunt for common foods and spices used in both cultures and learn what they are called in Spanish and Hindi. Make paper marigolds for upcoming Día de los Muertos and upcoming Hindu festivals!
And as always, we’re so incredibly grateful to our longest-running music sponsor, Texas Coffee Traders…keeping our performers refreshed and caffeinated for four years! Thanks, friends!
