Join us for a hands-on workshop that will give K-16 educators the tools to start speaking and understanding the Portuguese language in the context of Brazilian culture.
The event takes place in the Hackett Room, SRH 1.313 (Teresa Lozano Long Institute of Latin American Studies, 2300 Red River).
Workshop participants will also be introduced to Portuguese resources at the University of Texas that can be utilized in their classrooms. Workshop participants will practice speaking Portuguese over coffee and Brazilian snacks.
The workshop will be led by Vivian Flanzer, coordinator of UT’s Portuguese Language Program since 2001 and creator of the website ClicaBrasil (https://laits.utexas.edu/clicabrasil/).
The workshop is free and open to in-service and pre-service teachers and faculty from community colleges and minority serving institutions. Teachers can earn up to three hours of professional development credits.
