ProyectoTeatro starts its tenth-fifth season with “MX499: Los Hijos del Águila”, a theatrical production where 10 actors immerse themselves in the historical records of Mexico to unearth the psychological and emotional DNA of the people who lived through the most momentous events of the year. country during the last 499 years. The project uses the scenario as a laboratory to identify the psychological complexes, the collective mentalities and the social traumas that have been passed from generation to generation. A narrative thread of theater, dance and movement goes basting five centuries of emotions and experiences to build the analysis of contemporary Mexican and fragmented Mexico today.

“MX499” is an artistic diagnosis of what is not spoken and is not counted in the educational books of our governments: The massacre and vexation of the indigenous people; The other side of the Porfiriato; The normalization of the disappearance; Kill whoever is in your way; Tlatelolco, Ayotzinapa, Colosio; The democratic mockery of elections; The integration of drug trafficking into Mexican culture; The transitory solidarity of the Mexican people; The hypocrisy of choosing values and modeling morals at convenience; The complexity of miscegenation and its modern face.
