Her parents immigrated to the United States to provide their future children with better opportunities. She has a bachelor’s degree in Biology from the Georgia Institute of Technology. Post graduation, she pursued a career with IBM in New York City. Her work in the healthcare space as a client manager inspired her to pursue an MBA, which she completed at the University of Texas in Austin Texas. Home-based classes by Katie Turner: -My classes are 45 minutes long and are offered at different times of day.  I serve early childhood students from birth to age 5. Most of my students are 3-5, but the young toddlers that I have attend class with their caregiver. I have classes at Mondays and Wednesday at 4:00pm. My class rate is $18.00. I also do classes for the UT lab school students throughout the week.  I offer special rates and different schedules for school groups.  My class schedule changes by the semester and I will have morning and afternoon offerings. -My summer schedule will include a Monday class at 4:00pm and at least another morning class at 10am.  I will add more classes as my current parents give feedback for schedules. -My approach to language learning is through phonics, books, songs, movement, and vocabulary work.  Every week has a theme for vocabulary.  I include a lot of opportunities for students to speak, respond to prompts, move, and develop their oral language skills.
