Creative Action. The mission of Creative Action is to spark and support the academic, social and emotional development of young people. Through interactive classroom performances, after school arts residencies and community-based programs, Creative Action’s team of professional Teaching Artists inspire youth to be Creative Artists, Courageous allies, Critical Thinkers, and Confident Leaders.
BoCCa (Biliteracy Club Communities of Austin) is a nonprofit provides after-school programs and community based programs designed to empower youth through multilingualism and biliteracy. Their classes helps youth create and develop their linguistically and culturally diverse stories through digital media.
El Niño y El Cuento is a local nonprofit that promotes bi-literacy in Spanish and English in the greater Austin area. Each year, El Niño y El Cuento hosts a story-writing workshop for children ages 6- 14. Stories are written in Spanish or Spanish and English. Finalists are recognized and children are given opportunities to showcase their stories in the community.
Austin Independent School District, Multicultural Education Department. AISD is the largest school district in the greater Austin area. Their Multicultural Education Department is working diligently to bring more multilingual education to the Austin area through faithful implementation of best practices and innovative alliances across various multilingual programs.
Infancia y Educación is a website produced by Elizabeth García, a pedagogue with years of experience. Here she shares ideas, proposals and reflections about childhood and childhood education and knowledge and experience by other professionals in the field.
Global Austin. Global Austin is a local nonprofit that works closely with the City of Austin and the State Department to provide meaningful international educational and cultural exchange.
Austin Area Association for Bilingual Education (AAABE). A non-profit advocacy group made up of teachers and parents for education of linguistically and culturally diverse children.
Texas International Education Program. TIEP is a post-secondary intensive English program that offers three full-time programs of intensive English study year-round, as well as custom-designed programs for groups and individuals. TIEP also offers afternoon elective classes and an Evening Program for individuals who live and work in the Austin area. TIEP is a nonprofit educational organization and is a division of the Texas International Education Consortium (TIEC).
Dance Another World. Dance Another World is an English language immersion program taught through dance. Serving non-native English speaking students from lower-socioeconomic areas, students learn to communicate through creative movement.
Bilinguistics. Bilinguistics is a firm of bilingual and culturally diverse Speech-Pathologists that use the latest research on bilingual speech therapy.
