Halloween and Dia de los Muertos festivities are right around the corner and in the spirit of these events, our upcoming Tech Familia Workshop’s theme is Podcasting 101-learning about audio storytelling by creating an original spooky story and retelling traditional Latin American legends.
All Tech Familia workshops are free and for the whole family!
Our goal is to help bridge the digital divide, improve communication, media and tech skills and provide a space for families, from grandparents to young girls and boys, to learn and grow together.
Join us on Saturday, October 29th from 10 am to 12 pm at the Latinitas Community Technology Center, located at 4926 East Cesar Chavez Street (blue building).
With the support of General Motors Foundation and LULAC, Latinitas was chosen as one of five cities to be immersed in LULAC’s Empower Hispanic America with Technology (EHAT) initiative. This initiative seeks to enhance community technology centers in areas that serve low income Hispanic populations by providing digital and technological resources. With 60 technology centers across the United States and 1.6 million people who have benefited from EHAT, LULAC has established the nation’s largest Latino network of technology centers. Through a generous grant, Latinitas will provide Latinos with an invaluable resource critical to the advancement of this fast growing population and highlight the importance of a STEM education.
