Austin Freedom Tour launch celebration

A family event.

On the morning of October 10th at the George Washington Carver Museum, authors Chris Barton and author-illustrator Don Tate will celebrate the launch of THE AMAZING AGE OF JOHN ROY LYNCH (Eerdmans Books for Young Readers, 2015), and POET: THE REMARKABLE STORY OF GEORGE MOSES HORTON, (Peachtree Publishers, 2015). In addition, author Kelly Starling Lyons, visiting from Raleigh North Carolina, will appear with her and Don’s book, HOPE’S GIFT (G.P. Putnam’s Sons Books for Young Readers, 2012) and ELLEN’S BROOM, (G.P. Putnam’s Sons Books for Young Readers).

Please join us for readings, panel discussions, original poetry from members of the Typewriter Rodeo,Buffalo Soldier re-enactors, freedom themed crafts, face painting, more!

When: October 10th, 2015. The authors will arrive at 10:30 to receive guests. Activities for young guest will include crafts, face painting. Typewriter Rodeo and the Buffalo Soldiers will be on hand before the program, which will begin promptly at 11:30. Book signings following the program. Prizes!
