French Legation Museum


Bastille DayOur July 9th celebration will feature face-painting, balloon twisting, and juggling demonstrations.  Join us for a round of Pétanque, great entertainment, volleyball, dancing, and a hula hoop station for the kids.  In the food court choose from delicious sandwiches, salads, pastries, European-style flavored ice, fine wines, beers, juice and soft drinks for purchase.

The live-music stage show will open with the popular 1930’s-era Gypsy Jazz band Los Pescados.  With their international line-up of musicians, Los Pescados has built a strong presence within the Central Texas music scene as well as a strong following in Austin.  Los Pescados will be followed by the jazz-inspired chansons of singer Julie Slim with Rendez Vous.  Julie’s show moves song to song as she covers French icons Edith Piaf, Jacques Brel and Charles Trenet,.  Julie Slim and Rendez Vous will present a variety of styles perfect for a relaxed Texas summer night.  


7:00pm   SILENT AUCTION and Event begins – arrange your blankets &    lawn chairs, browse & bid at AFA’s fabulous Auction, enjoy a sandwich,
crêpe, artisan ice pop, glass of wine, or cold bottle of beer, or join us
for volleyball & Pétanque by the historic chargé d’affaires house.
