Celebrate Juneteenth a few days early with a short dance performance by the Copperfield Youth Group followed a performance by local blues musician Jackie Venson.

The Copperfield Youth Group is a community group that began in 1999 with founder Thereza Okorocha and a group of kids from the Copperfield subdivision. Their focus is on positive reinforcement and family togetherness. They unite the varied talents of the group to provide community entertainment in the form of acting, singing, dancing, and step dancing.

Enthralled with music since the age of 8, Jackie Venson has studied piano for 18 years as well as singing, songwriting, and five years of intensive guitar study, in addition to composition and studio production at Berklee College of Music. Venson’s accomplished background and natural knack for songwriting caught the attention of producer Eddy Hobizal, who, along with fellow seasoned, lifelong musicians, completed the vision of Venson’s self-titled project.
