About Project Tango:
ProjecTango, A Project by nature, is always in a stage of development, never really finished, more of an ongoing relationship that continues to become more of itself. This particular project assembles, and invites Tango to take center stage. The group has been created by, Luis Angel Ibanez. Originally from
Mexico City, Luis Angel moved to Austin TX, 26 years ago, to meet his ex-wife and to study Engineering, “…once accepted (talking about changing careers), it was a rather easy decision to assume”. So in 1996 Luis Angel, embarked on a new path, one that has changed the trajectory of his life, immersing himself in music full time, and embracing both the gifts and challenges of a full time music career. But
why, Tango, you might ask? Personally, I have a strong bond to Tango music, from the very first time as a young singer, my father would ask me to sing Tango songs. This continues to hold special meaning,
considering that my father had initially opposed both my brother’s and my determination to study music formally.” ProjecTango, will perform a beautiful selection of Tangos from the Golden Era, bringing this sublime art form more alive, for the delight of listeners, while also setting up the stage for passionate dancers, and for all Tango lovers.
