DescriptionRussian House of Austin presents “Maslenitsa” slavic celebration event! Maslenitsa, which roughly translates to “Butter Week,” is a ancient slavic celebration marking the return of spring. After a long winter, Russians are in a festive mood and are happy to celebrate all together the end of the cold season. The custom is to cook pancakes – symbol of the sun. Each day of the week has a special signication, the main celebration being on Sunday (this year on March 13th 2016) when Russians burn the Maslenitsa straw doll. This popular event occurs all over Russia! Russian House keeps traditions alive and will celebrate Maslenitsa on March 13th Sunday 11am-4pm with unlimited Blini station $15 (children under 7 years old-halfprice $7.50) all you can eat blinis with salmon, meat, cheese and ham, sour cream, julienne and sweet condiments such as honey, condensed milk, nutella/bananas, homemade farmer’s cheese, fruit mix served with variety of aromatic Russian Teas ! We also offer GLUTEN FREE pancakes! Russian House of Austin is dedicated to promoting cultural diversity from all corners of the world, not just those located in Eastern Europe. With space for up to 300 people, including a large bar area with a stage for live music, four private rooms, a covered patio that seats forty, and our main dining room, we can host parties of all sizes for all occasions.
